Dives into the aftermath of migration post integration, Investigating institutional neighborhood memory that lives on. Inspired by my youth and going to church on Ashland, I intertwine the identity of people of African descent through elements and motifs in nature, such as stars, fallen leaves, vines and weeds. It speaks to themes that have had a longstanding occupation of black environments through institutional racism; commodification and gentrification of the hood, while overcoming them through divine connection, community, and self determination.
